1996 XJ dies out

1996 XJ dies out
I have a 1996 XJ 4.0L. Starts up and runs but will die out. But it doesn't do it the same time every time. Might be 2 min might be 30 seconds. It doesnt bog down its almost like you shut the key off and back on.
It also happens going down the interstate. It will cut out for just a second and then start back up.
Tried to pull the codes and get a 12 and a 55. Which mean nothing. Looking for some ideas on how to trouble shoot. Thanks for any help.
