1996 fuel pump cross reference
I'm looking at buying a 96 with the 4.0 and it's a 5 speed, not sure of trim package, sport, country, etc. cause its painted entirely camo and the badges have been removed. But when I was test driving it, it took a couple seconds to start and the fuel gauge was showing empty. I asked if there was gas in it and they said they just put some in it. So I pointed out the gauge was still on empty. I'm just wondering if the fuel pump is about to go in it since those are a couple of symptoms of it.
I've been looking for a replacement fuel pump. I checked Rock Auto, eBay, Autozone, etc and they all show one thats very small compared to the one that's in my 98 Sport. Anyone know the OEM part number so that I can cross reference it so I can at least see what the right one is?

When the wholesalemopar. com site opens, type in 4798941 in the 'Search by Part Number' windoew and select Jeep as the 'Make'. Or type in part number 5003869AA.
Edit: However, if you go to mopar America and type in part number 5003869AA, it says
Discontinued Part
No Longer Available For Purchase

Good luck finding a fuel pump for a 1996 XJ.
