Default 1996 Cherokee sport: tie rod and center link rotate?

I'm having steering issues with my 1996 Cherokee. It's very difficult to keep straight on the highway and if I hit a bump on one of the tires it sort of forces the tires and steering wheel in the opposite direction. I unfortunately don't have a jack right now so I can't lift it up right now,but crawled under it and noticed that the tie rod and center link (I think that's what it is) rotate a little at the "ball joints" the rods are connected to (probably not ball joints.) I apologize for the lack of proper names, but I've never done suspension work. I'll attach some pictures of what I'm talking about.

You'll probably get some good advice here. The problem is not that uncommon. You should add some more detail about any lift that is on your vehicle, and what size tires you have on. Even better would be attaching some pictures of your suspension up front.

The condition you are describing is called "bump steer" and can be caused by a lift where various changes in the geometry of the front end suspension and steering components have not been fully considered. Once people here know what you have, they can probably tell you where you need to get to.

*Edit: looks like this is a duplicate post and you already have a conversation started in the other.

I accidentally hit the "post" button before I could post my pictures,so I had to start over. I couldn't find any way to delete this one.

As far as a lift goes,I don't believe it has ever been lifted. If it has been it'd be like 1" tops. I'm not the original owner of this.
