1993 Xj Headlight Issues

So randomly last week both of my headlights stopped working, everything else is fine. I figured it was the fuse, so I replaced that and still no light. What else could it be? The lights them self are 2 month old standard Cherokee lights.

Thanks,
Mike

Is the headlight switch getting power to it ?

Clean the connector featured in the link below.

There is no headlight fuse that I know of. There is a circuit breaker in the actual headlight switch.

I would do a supplemental harness:

Could be the headlight switch itself is bad. I had the same problem in my '92 & when we took things apart the stock headlight switch was all melted & messed up. From what I was told, this is pretty common. YMMV.

It is and installing an aftermarket harness is not that expensive or hard to do. This will eliminate the light current draw through the switch, it essentially makes the headlight switch open and close separate relays that power the lights. Once installed your headlights will be brighter too. The link to the write up that Cruiser posted is a nice one check it out.

Thanks, did you ever get a chance to look into that compressor ground?

I did it to mine. Didn't help but at least now I know it's just a gauge thing.
