Hey guys new on the forum. Looking for some insight and opinions. My 1993 XJ 4.0 4x4 Hesitates when you snap the throttle. Will nearly die after slowly raising rpm and letting it drop fast. No Check engine light. Starts well and runs rough. Spits fuel out of the exhaust. Failed Emissions. All spark plugs smell of gas. Lots of fumes coming from exhaust. This all existed before my mistake of maybe frying the ecu...

I took the advice of the guy behind the parts store counter and touched the positive and negative harness cables to reset the ecu which seems to have blown my computer, makes a high pitch noise and with my noob skills testing the 5 volt reference left me with only questions of my knowledge. Haven't tested powers and ground on computer or checked fuses but the high pitch noise is a big hint.
