Default 1992 Cherokee Check Engine Codes

I have three codes 12,15,41 and was wondering what they were and what I can do to fix them. I looked into code 15 and replaced the speed sensor it was obvious because my speedo wasn’t working it’s fixed now but the code still comes up how would I get the code to go away? Any help thank you.

Would that prevent me from getting it smogged if I disconnect the battery?

Nope. It just resets the computer, which makes it forget how to tune the engine, but it relearns it after about 50 miles.

Okay so I unplugged battery and stepped on brake pedal to make sure it was reset and plugged back in drove it around and the light didn’t go away but. The speed sensor code went away which is good because it’s brand new lol. But I still have 12, and 41 codes. Any help on those?

41**: Alternator field control circuit open or shorted.

okay I’m not sure what it could mean but is it voltage or just a bad alternator
