Default 1992 Briarwood: no cruise control

Hey guys,
I'm about to make a 700 mile drive on saturday and cruise isn't working at all. The Jeep has been sitting at home and hadn't been started since the beginning of august. I threw a new battery in a couple days ago, it started and ran decently but the speedometer and odometer weren't working. I drove it 50ish miles on the highway and nothing worked. I swapped in my spare cluster and still no speedo or odometer, so I replaced the vss. Speedometer and odometer are now working but it didn't fix cruise.

I did some research on the forum and a lot of people suggested vacuum issues but the Jeep doesn't show symptoms of a vacuum leak. Heat can blow through vents and defroster regardless of engine load and idle is stable at 750 rpm. How can I determine if the actual module is bad?

Another thing: the left turn signal doesn't always work and never auto-cancels so I'm wondering if the wiring to the stalk is bad.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Is this an XJ or a fullsize? If it's the XJ, I can guarantee that the wires at the base of the turn signal stalk are broken for the cruise control.

GM used solid copper wires for the cruise wiring and they break where the turn signal stalk goes up and down.

You will need to re-solder new wires. I used a cheap computer USB cable a long time ago to fix my 92.

Sounds like you need the internal plastic turn-signal module also. That will fix the non-cancelling and the not working of the lights. Will need a steering wheel puller and a replacement turn signal assembly from your favorite auto parts store. Hardest part is re-routing the replacement wiring down the column again.
