1991 Jeep Cherokee Minor Issues, Need Help!
Hi Everyone!!!
Today I bought my first jeep. It is a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I've always wanted one and now I've finally bought one!! It does have a few minor issues however. I do have some car mechanics skills. At least to get my by.
The first being what looks like a cut vacuum line or something of that nature. I have provided pictures and pointed out the problems in the pictures so you can see what I am talking about. Does it look bad? Ho
w can I fix it? Also those other hoses with no where to go, I don't understand.
Another problem is my window does not go down. It's the crank windows. Not a power window. It's like the handle is jammed, can't move it and don't want to be too hard and break it.
Another, When I turn on the headlights, the left blinker arrow stays lightly on. Only turns off when I turn off my headlights.
Thank you all and that's all for now.
What goes connected there? Why would someone unplug it? Is t bad? So many questions, so little time.
I believe this broken line goes to that little black thing. Where do you buy a little line like that to fix it?
This hose I have no idea why it's like this. Looks important and it looks like it involves coolant.

Got a little bit of a mess on your hands.
Deffinatly looks like heater hose. Is there a short loop of hose front/top of engine? Might be redneck heater bypass. No clue on other vac hoses, sorry

Yes, your heater core has been bypassed; very likely because it's leaking. A new heater core is not very expensive. Do some searching online for how to replace it. A Jeep with no heat is no fun! I would also suggest a complete cooling system flush before you connect the new heater core. Otherwise, you risk clogging the new core with gunk from the cooling system.
The other things appear to be a combination of vacuum lines and vapor recovery lines. I don't know much about those particular connections. I'm sure you can find a vacuum line diagram online. Likely your blower motor now forced air to the defroster only because the vacuum lines are not connected.

Heat?
You don't have any heat right? It looks like the P.O. bypassed the heater core. They were probably having issues with the bypass. You can go ahead and install heater hoses from a 1997 or newer and remove that bypass and plug the vacuum line and be good. You should flush the heater core and see if they sprung a leak (another reason they might of did the bypass until they could get to the core, Hopefully not!). I have a '91 also but don't have any issues with the bypass. I f I start having issues I'll pluck it also.

help
Sorry to revive an old thread, i have the same vacuum system as in this photo (xj1994) but i don't have the control valve (i bypassed it with a manual valve).
The white vacuum line coming from the firewall (showed in the pic) is loose. Do i have to plug it somewhere?
Im asking this coz im loosing a/c air on load so i have a leak , maybe coz of this vacuum line.
