1991 cherokee sport clutch .....
Hello all, i am looking for some help, I just replaced my clutch, in my efforts to prevent future failure, i replaced everything except the clutch line (not available anymore) it is the set up with the quick disconnect at the slave cyl. So clutch install went well, bled the system and drove home, only to discover that the new clutch master was leaking. Irritating but not the end of the world. Re installed my old clutch master and bled again thinking that all was well. Went for a 20 min drive, lost my clutch pedal. Gear jammed it home, checked the fluid , all ok, bled again got a pedal, same thing. I beleive that it is ingesting air either at the master or slave connection.....I am getting a little frustrated.
So after that ramble, my question is will an older clutch master from the renix era work? that way i can have a metal line with actual fittings instead of this plastic crap.
Thanks
Brent

Thats what i am thinking, use stuff from th 89 - 90 era, seems the line is still available aftermarket....should work fine as long as there are no issues with the clutch pedal to master cyl pushrod connection

I realize that novak sells adapters to replace the line on a "pin" styled line. What i wondered was if the earlier clutch master (with the treaded port) would fit in my 91. Then i could just get a line (dorman sells them). This way i could eliminate "pin" style connection, quick connect at the slave cyl, and the plastic line in between. I thought maybe yourself or cruiser might have run into this before...
Thanks

Well , just a little disappointed that no one had an answer or cared to answer my question. So to answer my own question, yes an older clutch master from a renix jeep will work in a newer cherokee. You need to adapt the push rod (make a bushing to fit your clutch pedal), other than that it is a bolt in. This gives you a 7/16 threaded port, Standard 1/4" brake line now works for hydraulic line.
