Default 1990 XJ no Taillights

I own a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. For over a month I have had no tail (running) lights when I pull the switch. This has also caused my dash lights to go. The brake, turning, reverse, dome and headlights all work. Ive replaced the bulbs and fuses, checked the grounds, replaced the headlamp switch and yes I have rotated the switch just to be positive. I chased wires from each end of the circuit to try and find the culprit but still no tail lights. Can anyone help me?

use a test light and probe the wires just before the socket connector. see if you have power there, and maybe it's just a bad socket. make sure you used the correct bulb. i think it's an 1157 but double check to be sure.

if no power, then you will have to trace it back as far as you can get to, probe the wire to see where you have power then go from there.

This is very amusing as I have been dealing with this exact same problem as well. Replaced Dimmer, fuses, headlamp switch, and checked and cleaned all grounds. This appears to be a very common problem.

i live in Canada and think my next check will be the Daytime Running Module and the Instrument panel relay.

if those dont work im out of ideas.

I may have a friend of mine wire the tail lights to their own circuit with a separate switch just to get past this issue
