1989 Jeep Wagoneer Limited. How to run brights with lows.
Just wanted to see what the easiest way is to run both low beams and high beams at the same time. I have HID's in my fog lights, high beams, and low beans. So I am using 180 watts with all 6 lights. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Can't run on the highway that way so you need a way to operate them both ways..
The simplest way IMHO is to add a toggle switch and relay to power the high beams directly. Just connect up to the existing power feed to the bulbs so the high beams work with the dimmer switch as normal, or with your added relay.
If your '89 has a separate relay to control the high beams (I'm not familiar with that year), you could just add a toggle switch in parallel with the existing control line to operate the relay at will.

Why would I need a heavy duty light harness? HID's are a lower wattage than Factory Halogen Lights. All 6 lights "STOCK" were 50 watts each in all totaling 300 watts in just lights. Since my HID'S are the 30 watt's "all 3,000k", I am now reducing the wattage to 180, that saves me 120 watts, better look, better night driving, and I might get a BJ if I get all the lights running.

I never said you NEED a HD harness, just ask if you had one. Reason I ask is because my Sonoma had independent highs and lows and I wanted all four lights on when I turned my brighter on. I built a HD harness for it and put a 3 amp diaode between the 2 factory trigger wires and now all 4 lights are on when I hit the high beams. My fogs are on their own relay harness and switch.
I got it. 1 switch for the high beams. 2 relays "30 amp". Can run all 6 lights and no more hot switches!

I'm sure you can run all 6 if you do the wiring right I'm just not to sure how to do it for the fogs. Here's a pic of my harness BTW.
Diaode between the factory high and low wires.

Hi,
Yes it is an old thread...
Wondering if someone makes a ready to plug kit for the 4 headlights XJ Wagoneer.
Or a detailed DIY guide with part list
