1989 Cherokee high idle speed update
Months ago I posted a message pertaining to a high idle speed.
I replaced and adjusted the idle speed stepper motor and the throttle position sensor, but they never really solved the high idle speed problem.
I closely inspected the throttle body and found a screw that you could adjust that would change the throttle valve position. Much like the idle speed adjustment on a carburetor. I grew up with carburetors and I know that many people aren't familiar with them anymore.
If you adjust this screw with the proper allen wrench, I found that you can adjust the idle speed on the throttle body.
My old Cherokee is now running fine again, so I can now say that this problem is now solved. It has others, but they can be lived with for the time being.
Thanks to all that sent me solutions to this problem.
