1989-4.0 EFI Cherokee Distributor Upgrade?

Hello All - Newbe Here,

Wondering why only 232 / 258's can be upgraded w/ an HEI Distributor setup & not 242's.

Looking to upgrade from the Renix Ignition System it has.

What Ignition Upgrades are possible?

Any response always welcome.

Sry everyone been busy this afternoon getting my Jeep ready for a crosscountry run.

There are a couple of upgrades that I have personal knowledge of that are an actual upgrade.
First is the MSD box IIRC it is a 6AL.
Second is a Jacobs Electric box and if they still have them a distributor. Saw this about 10-12 years ago and was pretty impressed but they were out of my budget at that time and have not kept up with their current status. But they were a company based in ElPaso and they made multiple applications. Saw one on an 88 XJ 4.0L and it had about 15-20 more rear wheel HP than stock.
