Default 1987 XJ Laredo engine swap

ok so i have a 1987 Jeep XJ Laredo 4x4 4.0L AW4 NP231 and i blew the motor some how. a guy at work has a motor from a 95 cherokee base model 2wd. my question is would there be any implications on putting the 95 motor in my 87? and is the 95 a H.O. ? will all my intake and exhaust and serpintine setup bolt on? need answers ASAP as im planning on doin it next week. any help will be greatly appreciated

Its the same block so if you stripped it down to the basic engine all your old parts shpuld go back on just the same as they wur

ok and i did some searching on wiki and the 95 4.0 is a H.O. motor so wouldnt i ahve to use the intake and exhaust from the 95 to get the right power out of it? and in doing so i would also have to get the computer and stuff for it. or am i over thinkin it?

ok well let me ask you this, wouldnt it just be simpler to buy his whole jeep for 200 bucks with the motor and swap in my 4wd system? since all the motor componets are there already? and i know the front end will be easy to install but the shifter linkage for the TC will be difficult right?
