1986 Jeep Cherokee w/2.8L Motor..where is Carb.Fuel/Air Screw?
I have a 1986 Jeep Cherokee that has the dreaded 2.8L V6 and I did some Tune-Up work today. Could someone tell me where I can find the Fuel/Air Mixture screw on the Carb.? Also the Fast and Curb Idle? I am looking for a general location as I am standing in front of the vehicle looking at the motor.Pictures would be really cool too! Thanks

I am 99.9% sure that there are NO mixture screws on that carb. Only thing you can really set is the curb idle with the set-screws on the throttle. Best guess is either the carb is worn out, you have a vacuum leak somewheres (very possible with the age and amount of hoses on those years), and or ignition issues.

I'll take a stab that they are still factory plugged.
Look at the base and see if you see 2 round plugs flush.
If so pull the carb flip it over get the dremel and slice the base to the plugs then tap them out and you will find the adjustment screws. (These are called idle limit caps)
Check throttle shaft for loosness while off and if loose get repair bushings to stop the vaccum leaks.
I'd put a Motorcraft 2bbl on it.
Good luck.
