1984 pioneer v-6 smog removal questions

Hey all, I have been getting my pops old 84 pioneer running, and was wondering if I could take all those hoses and crap outta there? What do I need to do? Any point me to a thread or care to explain why I can, or can't, take it off?
Thanks

CF does not condone, recommend, or give advice on how to remove emissions control components. It's actually against the rules to ask about it.

Yeah. That, too.

Yep. What they all said

Oh ok, I had no idea! It's hard to be an outlaw, if you follow all the rules! I was hoping that I could remove it to find the basic problems of the engine without dealing with all the extra vacuum line leaks. Is there a way to temporarily disable then re-enable it, for diagnosing purposes only?

Is that the law in all states? I kinda figure that stuff is just in California! My apologies! Sorry about that, moderators!

50 states friend. Federal law when it comes to emissions. California and others are just more strict.

I forgot to mention this would be for an off road rig only. Can I remove it, since it will not be on a trailer on the highway?

sawspa 10-15-2013 01:39 PM

It will be on a trailer. Sorry for the typo

I'm not sure about the technicalities regarding that legal wise, but I can still assure you that you won't get much help on that topic from this forum. Not trying to come across as mean at all, but whether it is trail only, a trail worthy DD, or a mall crawler, it is still against forum rules to discuss removal of emissions control systems.

Sorry man.
