Default 1" tcase question.

will droping the crossmember that holds the tranny/tcase an inch effect anything up front?

Nope!! Dropping the TC 1 inch will only get rid of vibes if you have any from lifting your XJ.

Yes it changes the pinion angle at the front DS. For small lifts up to 3", these changes don't cause to many problems due to the Slip joint and Double cardin joints.

Why are you considering a TC drop? Do you need it? Is there a better way?

TC drops are the cheapest way to TRY to cure driveline vibes. You other options are Shims in the rear axel or SYE conversion. Shimming may be required with both a TC drop and SYE. So I would look there first, when trying to correct driveline angles.

i have a 7" lift and i use a 5* (degree) shim on my rear axle and a SYE at the Transfer Case. in the front i have adjustable control arms so i just adjusted the angle and i still use the stock front drive shaft. the best way to tell if you have a good angle is if your pinion yoke, and your driveshaft are in line with eachother. that is how i was taught.
