01 Cherokee Classic no longer moves
Hello all,
This is my first forum post so excuse my ineptitude.
My fiance has a 01 Cherokee classic with roughly 140k miles on it. About 3 days ago she noticed that there was a slight delay after giving the gas pedal a push and seemed a little lethargic.
Today, we went to shuffle our vehicles around and it went about 10 ft in reverse then decided she didn't want to move any more. We went through all combos of 4hi-low, 3rd and 1st/2nd gear on the automatic transmission. The parking brake was off the entire time. We pushed her back into her spot and are scratching our heads.
The engine sounds the same when rev'ing but I don't believe it's locking into any gears. All we have done to it in the past month is give it an oil change.
Any help is much appreciated. Also, if I am in the wrong thread I apologize!!

pull the dipstick, does the tranny fluid smell burnt?
Betting its going to need a build or get one from a salvage yard.
The AW4 was bulletproof tranny, most lasting 200+k miles with little service.
