Working on a pals 01 Cherokee. 4.0 six, auto with 4wd. Had a radiator leak so I replaced it..simple. While there new serpentine belt and tensioner. Was a can low on freon so serviced that, all new anti freeze. Warmed it up and everything worked perfectly. A/C was super cold so I selected heat...checked good, went back to A/C..blows hot out of vents?? Line from comp very cold and chamber under dash is cold...its like heat and A/C are both on at same time??? Compressor is engaged and pumping VERY cold to dash but not out...any ideas...been a mechanic my whole life(mostly old foreign) but most other cars too...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

vents are controlled by engine vacuum, check vacuum ball in passenger side of bumper to verify its still hooked up, if it is, it could be another blend door problem

Checked the cannister in rt front bumper. Nothing wrong. Traced hose to manifold..plugged it off. Started car and A/C started blowing like ice out of defroster vents only?? Left it running and reconnected hose back to manifold. Now everything works perfectly?? Don't know and as I'm getting old...as long as it works...Thx guys..
