'00 cherokee no start
 

A friend, just recently rebuilt his motor and installed a mild cam. Once all was buttoned up, it took a few tries but it fired up. We did the cam break in, then he took it for a spin. During the maiden voyage he discovered his brakes were locked up, so he got it back home and sorted out his brake issue. Now, it will not start.... Nothing. Yesterday, I came by to assist and noticed the no key symbol lit up. Its my undwrstanding, that he has since installed a new NSS and ignition. Is it possible that he lost his key program or his immobilzer is active? Any other ideas?
