Sorry...Standard practice. I have always remained invisible on forums.

My thoughts...One..X-girlfriend would track which boards I was on and search for my posts. Thus I use a common name bouncy since google searching will net you about a billion results.

As a mod and admin on the board, I didn't want people knowing I was online since I would get 50+ PMs within 5 minutes of signing on. I could do my job on the board without anyone seeing me.

Bringing me to my current real job..IT guy..."Be a ghost, fix the problem and not let anyone know your there or interupt their work while you fix it."

Guess after 20 years of being invisible...its just normal to me now.

Well thats for the input, also note your not completely invisible.

I know admins and mods can see me.

I also know the Activity section of my profile will tell what thread I am in and if I am online.

Otherwise, I don't show up on the bottom active user list except for the count being higher than the people showing. Meaning if 5 names are listed...the count would show 6 online.
