Identifying OP

With threads of any size,it is very difficult to keep track and determine who the original poster is.
Most forums identify the OP by listing OP after the posters name in caps and/or have OP and/or the posters name in a different color.
This would be very helpful for use on CF.

As opposed to looking at the first page?

I agree with the OP, but 99% of the forums you find on the internet are mostly based on software that deploy some sort of message board template. The Admins have options they can set, but to do real programming changes are beyond the scope of their expertise. So, it comes down to the type of software they use. Many automotive forums use the same software; although, you'll see many different versions of it from slight differences to major revisions. Asking for a change like the OP suggests is not as easily said as done. The software used can vary from free to freakin' expensive, and doing a revision change requires forum downtime along with time that most volunteer admin don't have or aren't inclined to invest in such a change.

What I'm saying is, it is what it is. We get to use this place for free. Suggestions are like opinions or a particular body part, everyone's got one, some just smell more than others. Carry on Forum Admin and Moderators, and thank you for helping us enjoy our hobby.

Okay, so after finding http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/index.php, which lists modifications and then checking what this site runs (3.9.x)...

I found this: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=282376

Unfortunately only someone with a vbulletin license can see the actual code.

So it is possible. But as mentioned before me, it is up to the people who run the site.

That one extra mouse click is way to difficult to do without the proper tools and PPE
