Default forum error?

I've been getting this message the past couple days when replying, clicking on forum threads, or using the email notification link:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 184320 bytes) in /home/cherokee/public_html/includes/class_postbit.php(300) : eval()'d code on line 69

As soon as i click on the link, that message appears.

Dunno if it's my computer or the forum.

this is typically related to a server setting. I have made some tweaks and this should not occur now... If it happens again please let me know... also let me know if its not happening at all anymore thanks!

Still getting those errors:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 184320 bytes) in /home/cherokee/public_html/includes/class_postbit.php(300) : eval()'d code on line 69

when i clicked on pet's thread.

It has to be something related to my computer cuz no one else is experiencing this. I find myself spending more time in other forums now cuz i can't view 1/2 of the threads here. Sucks. Anything i can do to fix this?

Download Mozilla Firefox It is the best internet browser out there by far. Eliminated most of my E/explorer issues.

I think i'm gonna format my harddrive and reinstall the wonderful windows xp. Still getting these error messages all the time, but only on this forum. No one else is so it's gotta be related to my computer.

Are you guys crazy? This has nothing to do with anyones local computer. The PHP memory buffer is being filled. It's a server setting you need to tweak.

If it's not fixed, this is how you do it:

in the php.ini file change / add this line:

memory_limit = 20M (20 is what I chose, keep increasing it until the error stops) Most of the time if you are on a shared server the host has to do this.

EDIT: Or if that doesn't work, I was just thinking... The MySQL Packet size might be too small. It will be listed on the main admincp page. If you need to change that variable to a larger size, it's in the my.ini file. Another one of those files you need root access to change on the server.

You should NEVER recommend someone reformat their computer for an obvious error on your end. That just isn't nice.
