Disable the Likes

I get it. I just don't see the advantage of turning it off. If someone doesn't want to use it then just scroll on by. I find it useful when I find posts that are helpful to me but don't have anything to contribute to the thread. I can like the post without adding useless posts to the thread saying thanks for all the work making a useful post. But that's just me.
You have no idea how it works in the background, you have a limited view to what happens on the site.

We appreciate the feedback, everyone. We've had Likes on other sites in our network and they were well received, so we made it a standard feature of our forums network-wide. Where we've found them to be particularly useful is in threads with good technical advice as it helps to both let members acknowledge good information and signal it as such for other people.
We realize there's still room for improvement, and as I mentioned in my previous post, we're looking to clean up how the Likes are displayed so they take up less space. We'll also do a better job of communicating new features like this to the team going forward.
Thank you again for the feedback!

Still wanting to hide that box. The option to hide it is all i ask. A workable solution was provided that would please those that dont mind it, and those that dont want it.
Someone else liking someone elses post is of no concern of mine. Nor should it be. Poor execution. I took some screenshots a while back but never bothered to post because i got the feeling id be pounding sand. Here they are. It is doable.
There you go. Thats the fix, and what they shouldve done in the first place. I just did half the work. Youre welcome.
