Disable the Likes
For the last 2-3 days, i have been seeing boxes between posts that read "The following users liked this post:". I have been thru the UserCp and i do not see the option to disable or hide this box on my end. I dont give a rats patootie who gave someone elses thread a like. Means nothing to me. Even if it were my thread i wouldnt care, because i dont do the like thing. If the higher ups simply must have that "like" box, please add the option to remove or hide that box on our end if we so choose. Instead of showing up where it is, why not code it so it shows up in our profiles as a notification? When you stop and think about it, thats exactly what it is. A notification. Of sorts. And thinking about it a bit more, seeing someone else giving someone elses thread a like, is like getting someone else notification. Sounds like poor planning to me.
I see there is also a like counter under our avatar. A LIKE counter? Really? Why is this even a thing?
All i want is the option to remove or hide that box between posts.

How do i disable that box?
IB Jason posted the following. "We're happy to announce the introduction of a new Like button for CherokeeForum. Now you can easily acknowledge posts, track who's liked your posts, and see which posts are most liked by fellow members. You can find our Like button along the bottom of any post on both the full desktop site and mobile site, as well as view your given and received Likes in your desktop profile's Statistics tab.
We hope you LIKE it!"
I dont care which posts have the most likes anymore than i care what the forums had for breakfast. I seem to be the only one that has an issue with that box. Fine. But why is there is no option to atleast hide it?

Hello, hello? Not one word from anyone representing IB. I keep pressing 0 on my keyboard to speak to an operator, but it doesnt seem to be working.
IB, i would like to disable that box i mentioned. I do not want it. I am not asking IB to remove it from the forums entirely. I just dont want to see it, and would like the option to hide it, on my end, so i do not see it. I feel all forum members should have this option, which should have been implemented as such from the start. We can disable other things, but not this? Stick that box of likes somewhere else, out of view, like, i dont know, in our profile, as a notification. Please. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback, and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We don't currently offer a way to disable the Likes feature on an account by account basis, but we are exploring new display options that will make it less intrusive. I don't have a time frame just yet of when the changes may roll out, but we hear you and are cooking up a solution.

Two of your own mods. Had no idea this was happening.
Communication is king. You can't just make a change, announce it in one obscure section of the site, and expect everything to be done.
When you make changes to the site, you need to make it clear what's happening, to users AND STAFF. I might not be on payroll, but am still staff...

Because it's causing problems for some people. It's an unnecessary addition that's annoying.

Whenever changes roll out, issues arise, maybe not for you, maybe not for me, but lots of people out there have outdated devices, firmware, software, etc....

I get it. I just don't see the advantage of turning it off. If someone doesn't want to use it then just scroll on by. I find it useful when I find posts that are helpful to me but don't have anything to contribute to the thread. I can like the post without adding useless posts to the thread saying thanks for all the work making a useful post. But that's just me.
