Default For Sale Area Changes

*****The are titled FOR SALE is now closed. You can only view posts. You can no longer post or reply in that area.***

We have changed the For Sale area. Basically we have broken it up into a few catagories. We also added a form that added some required information. We added prefixes to each post.

For Sale Sections:
Vehicles
Axles/Tires/Wheels
Engines/Tranny/T-Case
Suspension
Accessories
Part Outs
Miscellaneous

Wanted remains as it was. Only change there is the requirement of a prefix. The prefix is made of of 2 parts, WTT or WTB with the region added to the end.

WTT = Want to Trade
WTB = Want To Buy
Region will be based on the current regional setup. I will post that map shortly to the top of each for secion under the classifieds.

The new form to selling items on the site will require State/Location, Price, Condition of item/s and of corse a prefix of FS + Region. Each item except Price will be a selection menu. The price is driven by cookies so if you never log out and you post something for sale and then come back to do another the price could still be filled in.

I think that covers the basics. So if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I will answer them as I have time.

If you find an issue please let me know and we will work as fast as we can to resolve it.

Sounds great. At some point in the future, may I suggest a "sold" subsection. This is a good place to put sold trucks and maybe even parts. It will help cut down on the "still available" questions and become a good reference for prices for future sellers and buyers.

Why can't I look at for sale vehicles? It says there are no posts or I don't have permission...??? Are there no posts?
I can look at the other areas.

Edit:
Nvm... It's working now...

Like the new set up. Tons easier to find stuff and makes it so "where are you located?" isn't having to be asked all the time. Well done.

Ok you can now mark your for sale threads as sold. Above the reply button you will see an option to click sold. Only the original poster can do so.

With that said I will be updating the rules.

Say you have multiple items that belong in a sub section, do you post each item individually or one ad that lists everything?

You can post more than 1 item in a list. All items need to fit within the section they are posted. Once all items are sold mark thread as sold. You also need to make sure you update your threads when items are sold.

I tried to click the "quote" tab so I could reply to someone in one of my own For Sale threads and have their question show before my reply and got a " you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: " screen.

The area titled For Sale is closed. Sorry I should have mentioned that in my original post which I will add now.

i hate to be the one negative nancy.
esp since i think the organization was a great idea.

i just really think there needs to be some link that shows all for sale posts.
im going crazy at my computer waiting for the loading of click on vehicles, then back, then engines, then back, then suspension, then back, then misc.

maybe its just me tho. but i dont see myself as the only one on here who wants to be able to quickly in 5 min or less see all the new for sale stuff.

sorry i started my own thread.. i would have put my suggestions in here had i seen this..
