Default Yankee Hill, Colorado 6/5/11

Me and a couple buddies from work did "most" of yahkee hill on Sunday. I say most because about half way through the trail, we got stopped by some cars coming the other direction saying someone in a 2wd truck had rolled about 1/2 mile up the trail and was close to going over the edge. We did not want to join in their shennanigans so we spent the rest of the day playing on some side trails and finally ended up at the glacier. Coming from Central City the trails were DRY, however coming from the St Mary's Glacier side there was still snow. ( of course ) Anyways, here are some pics. Again, nothing hairy just some good scenery.

great looking area. not to familiar with the area, but just go on the side of caution when posting pics of deeper puddles and houses in the back ground.

Its not really a puddle, its the overflow from a private lake that drains across the county road and down the mountain, no practical way to avoid it really ...Here is another pic that shows the lake and what used to be St Mary's Glacier. I believe it has been downgraded from a glacier, now its called a ...?...? I dont remember. LOL

Unfortunately, I have a wedding on Saturday and will be trying to put the Jeep back together on Sunday so no wheelin for me this weekend.

I know I have plans for the weekend of the 25th but not sure about next weekend so we may do something then. We are going to do Webster Pass on the next trip, just not sure when that might be.
