Gorilla Pit 3/15/12
 

Well, I met a fellow XJ owner a couple weeks back at a local truck fest. Turned out that we live 5 mins from each other. I'm new to the area, so he was kind enough to show me that we have a couple nice wheeling spots 10 minutes from my house! By no means are they on par with non-Florida trails, but it's certainly much better than I was expecting for my area. With that in mind, the family and I loaded up yesterday for a quick trail ride to snap some pics and see how the XJ works in stock form with shot suspension before we put the lift in tomorrow. Bottomed out the rear several times, but no biggie. I'm running no rear sway and the front was connected. The pictures can be deceiving because they don't show the depth/height too well. It's deeper than it looks. Realized halfway through the pics are in reverse order. Doh!

This is only a small part of this place. It goes and goes. I just didn't have time to explore. Also, 5 minutes away from gorilla pit is an enormous area with trail after trail Much larger than this one.

Definitely. Only major trail parks are 2hrs in either direction. To have two places over 20 acres each of free wheeling areas within 10 minutes of your house is a blessing in florida.
