Exclamation WTB: 100% Running XJ with a GOOD body:

Long story short, today my XJ caught fire & the motor, 1/2 the firewall, & passenger dash are gone, but the drivetrain, susp, axles, tires, etc, are all good so i need a 100% running XJ to swap over my susp & axles to!!! Preffer the 1996 & older body style, 4door, & white, but it MUST be in excellent running condition & have little to NO rust on the unibody!!!

I do have my eyes set on a newer styled XJ here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...item25696c0f58 & so my question would be if id have any issues swapping in my susp, steering & axles that are built for under a 1995 XJ??

With that XJ listed above, it would be SO nice to have an XJ with that good of matenence record, low miles, NO RUST, & have every little button actually work, so im highly thinkin about it!!! Luckily, i didnt install my frame stiffeners nor aftermarket bumpers, SO, i'd first install them, plate everything, then bedline it inside & out, then i'd swap in everything from my T-case on down.

So if anyone has a good XJ for sale, please let me know. I'd also preffer not to buy someone elses build because it would complicate things as i have everything built exactly how i want it & i know the quality of my build. Thank You!!!

Fixable; um NO!!!!! This is a fire that took over 10 min to put out with DIRECT contact from the fire hose, "as in fire dept", plus local PD & staties present!! It reached over 1200 deg as it melted my aluminum hood vents & also cause the fire inspector told me so. The fire itself lasted prob 20 min in itself & there is NOTHING left on or around the motor thats not metal.

Pics are uploading now.

I'm selling my 00, has bumpers, detours tailbone, and small lift which doesn't matter since your swapping your suspension over, jeep body is in mint, two small areas of surface rust underneath that were covered, engine has about 40k on it

I have a 96 133,xxx miles, engine runs great! 3 1/2 lift.. almost no rust, the only problem I know of is the shift solenoid in the trans is bad so it starts out in high gear. has some faded paint on the hood but other than that body is great.
I'm in pa 19380, asking $3200

Bit of an update to maybe help this thread out...

Ive ben real picky about choosing another XJ. My first priorities are a good body with as little rust as possible & rather low mileage, BUT i find myself only looking at white, black, or silver in color & nothing else!! Second, i wont buy a 2k XJ cause of the 0331 head, BUT the 2k's are a dime a dozen & are generally the rust free XJs that have NEVER been wheeled, so when i plate the unibody, i know im starting with a straight unibody!! The other problem with the 2k's is that people, (especially dealers), are asking upwards of $6k to $7k for them which is more then im willing to pay!!

When i search ebay, theres always a few good deals but they land up being states away. When i search craigslist, most of them arent in that good of condition. When i search the forums, i find half built XJs that have been wheeled & come with other peoples work done to them which is a no no for me!! I recently decided to expand my search to pre 96 with maybe 130,xxx plus on the clock just to save $$ & pick one up for like $3k. I have all my own steering, suspention, axles & tires, so a good well maintained stocker is what im really after!!

'99 is probably the best year to get you still got the hp d30 you get the better intake you still have the good cylinder head...and rust is super easy to fix just get it so its in areas easy to fix my '99 needs the rear lower quarters done (cut and fold method) a little sanding and painting on roof and it has 206k miles runs perfect and i paid $750 so i think you should open your search a bit more
