First question every one will ask what do you want to spend? And where are you located?

You might as well just get a Rough Country or Smittybilt for a couple bucks more.

I ran a Harbor Freight / Chicago Electrics 8000# winch on my TJ for 4-5 years and it worked great. It wasn't the fastest thing in the world, but it sure got the job done and paid for itself one many occasions.

I'd just rather go with the Rough Country winch for the same price. It's a proven brand with great customer service. Not to mention that it comes with a wireless remote. If there was a $150 price difference than I would possibly be inclined to go with the harbor freight winch, but for the same price I'd rather go with the Rough Country model. Two years ago those HF winches were the cheapest you could find by a few hundred dollars, but now they're pretty much evenly priced with name brand models.
