I replaced the 4.0 in my '97. I found a good used motor through www.car-part.com. It's a free national used parts listing engine, kinda the high tech variation of the old wrecking yard teletype. Paid $450 for an 80,000 mile motor and drove only an hour or so to get it.

You can set the search parameters for distance. I'd give myself as much mileage as you can travel to get the best selection. It's worked well for me on more than one occasion and others I told about it.

Aurora? Dude just go to pull a part in Denver off 62nd and Broadway. Pull a decent looking engine out of a donor XJ, replace all the gaskets, water pump, oil pump, et cetera. Total cost? Maybe $500. Then get home and swap it out. It's not like it's raining down there. Just rent a hoist and do it in your driveway. It's not that hard, man.
