As a previous owner of a silver 00 classic (and now a 00 silver sport) I highly recommend just going on ebay...buying one of the ch3ap header panels there...then hitting your local dealer for the factory touch up paint.
I did this for my first silver XJ and it came out great.

See, I got one of those cheap header panels and it looked like crap and took a ton of time to prep. Thankfully it wasn't for my good XJ (avatar) but one I ended up selling soon after, but still. If you can find one in silver, it'll look better and you'll save a ton of time.
