Default Liftgate Lock

I'm looking for a 99 Jeep Cherokee liftgate lock. Opening my Jeep has become a chore and it's a hit or miss ordeal. Mechanic says I should completely replace it. After fixing and working for a while, it's finally giving out.

Can pay via PayPal along with S&H.

Have you tried adjusting the mechanism? I had problems opening my hatch, I had to take the trim off from the inside to pop it open. I just adjusted the latch and put a zip tie on it. Haven't had problems since.

Mechanics love to tell people to throw parts at things.

I pulled mine apart on a 98 and it was just so dusty inside there it was binding up... First try clean the crap out of the latch.

Yeah, I did just that and it worked for a while but the problem resurfaced. The mechanic and I both looked at the mechanism closely and saw that it was bending in an area that wasn't allowing the latch to open. It's working now but every now and then I have to deal with a locked liftgate. Thanks for the suggestion though.
