Sand blasted one sounds good. Dumb question maybe but is there any modification needed to fit my '97? If not send me a quote for the sandblasted shipped to 94519 please.

This is the way I would go. Since you are swapping out the intake anyway you might as well upgrade to the '99+ one and get a performance boost.

Direct bolt in? If not, what modifications are needed?

Performance boost? How so? Sorry dumb question probably but I was unaware the 99+ was an upgarde.

Yeah they are different, its direct bolt on and it gives you a little more horse power and better idle. You can also add the neon injectors and get better idle

1slo_camaro 01-22-2013 09:24 PM

the added power comes from the better airflow. it is not like an OMG throw you back in your seat but with the intake and a set of 703 injectors and a 60mm Throttle Body (which i will have one soon) you will notice a large difference.

tomorrow i will be sand blasting all my intakes i have. and if nobody picks any up, i will paint one black, blue or red and an orange one i already have a few happy customers and hopefully another happy customer at the end of this week. if you want a plain intake i can send it out tomorrow or if you want a stock 4.0 pre 99 intake i can send it out tomorrow and I can sand blast it and paint it as well

Thanks for the info. Since it is direct bolt on makes sense to do it. umbaxj, you are just full of great info haha... doing the 'forward flush' on my transmission soon too. I posted about in my thread about transmission service.

As long as it is direct bolt on I'll do the 99+ one instead of pre '99. I will want a non painted one but would like it sand blasted and cleaned up. Also since you are pulling these off could you do me a favor and send me the two bolts for the power steering pump that thread into the manifold? Mine are all jacked from the previous owner.
