Front skid plate for 97' XJ

Hi Guys,

Looking for a front skid for my 97 XJ. I know it doesn't offer the greatest protection on lifted XJ's, but I more or less want it to help prevent water splashing up on my pulleys, alternator, engine, etc.

Just hoping for one that isn't bent/beat up. I don't mind having to paint it. If you have the mounting hardware, that would be nice as well.

Pictures are welcome, and I prefer paypal.

Thanks!

Oh, I also want it for a place to mount my JKS quick disco's when they are disconnected.

By the way, I went to do different pick n pulls, and not one XJ had one. If anyone has one, please send me a PM.

Thanks!

Check CL or the for sale section on here.

Out of the dozens of different jy's I've been to over the past 2 years, seeing hundreds of XJ's, I've only ever come across one.

Not that they're rare or anything, they just get picked quick.

Check CL though for sure, I always see them on there.

I check CL pretty frequently and can never find one. I figured that was my best bet until i searched for 2 months and didn't find any.

I continue to check CL, but I thought I'd post up here in the hopes that someone already had one they didn't use.

So if anyone has one, let me know! I'll take it off your hands.

When in salvage yards, keep an eye out for the skids laying around. They are often taken off to access other parts, then left lying around. I found all three stock skids this way.
Even on a lifted rig, the front skid is beneficial. Add the stock 'splash guard', and the two are effective at keeping water, mud and debris out of engine bay.

Before installing disconnects on skid, be sure the tires will clear it when turned and suspension compressed.

Thanks, Steve.

Does this mean you have one available?

I actually thought about that, so I kept a close eye on stuff around the XJ's as well as inside to make sure one wasn't in a back seat, or the trunk space.
