D30 4.10 gears or Axle
I am in Ft Wayne and am looking to re-gear or replace my front with 4.10.
Its actually for my TJ but I know its compatible with many different cherokees.

FYI,from the factory your TJ had a low pinion axle.Most XJ's (95%) have high pinion axles.The high pinion is a stronger axle.So,if you just buy gears make sure they are from a low pinion axle.

yeah I know.. AND the gears are reverse cut. pretty much the exact opposite of what I need.
Found that out just in time to not buy a great looking axle with a posi "locker"

Wrong... a XJ axle will bolt right in a tj or zj and be a upgrade because of the high pinion instead... Also if u get one with abs or 97+ cherokee itll have 297 axle shafts and joints... Same as the tj... So yours now would be spares...

the 4-cyl 95-01 cherokees even came with 4.10!

i got mine with 4.10's... the V6 2.8's had 4.10's also... they are disco axles though... it was still cheaper to just do the yukon one piece axle swap with 297 shafts on it... now its disco no longer and i only got $250 in it with 4.10's...

just got back from picking up my new axle. Found one without discos out of a 93, it even has the 297 shafts. It looks to be in really good condition and the gears look and feel perfect!
