Bronco II Tire Carrier
Not expecting to get a hit off this section, but I figured someone might have a Bronco they're parting or know someone doing so. I also don't want to register at a Bronco forum and get the needed posts to post in For Sale lol.
Anyway, this is what I'm looking for:
I'll be checking my local junkyards when I can, and maybe even browsing CL and such.
Cheers

no need to weld it. take the tail light off and u have access to the inner side of the panel. drill your holes for the mounts. drill holes in the steel plate. put steel plate on inside and put the bolts thru it and tighten down. think of it like how the rear hitch is held on but with another piece of thicker metal under the nut strips

So I might be buying a carrier. I'm wondering what additional work I'll need to do to add this. I can't tell from the pic, but do I need to reinforce at all? It'll be holding a 33x12.5.

I don't think so.It seems a little beefier than the factory XJ carrier & I know people put 31's on 'em.My concern would be re-inforcing the area where you bolt the carrier to the body.I would use a piece that is more than enought so you never worry about it pulling thru.
