So my jeep runs and drives fine but I got curious and put it down in 1-2 and it didn't every seem to shift from first to second but when I put it in drive it shifts like normal

Is your check engine light on? If so have it scanned and look for a trans output speed sensor code. If it isnt working the trans wont shift from 1-2 in low. Mine is doing the same thing. Shifts fine but no 1-2 when in low.

the cel is on but not for that could other codes clause that...?

The trans OSS may not be reading anything and causing your problem without setting a code. Mine says its a circuit fault because the sensor is open internally.
