97-01 4x4 4.0 5 speed cherokee

As the title says, I'm looking for a 97-01(preferably 00-01 easier sell to my wife if its 2000+) 4x4 6 cyl cherokee with a 5 speed manual trans. I've been looking for a while now and cant seem to find a decent one. needs to have less than 150k and not be beat up. small tasteful lift is ok, but I dont want a trail rig. Let me know what you have!

nothing?

Have you checked out Craigslist? Sometimes if your willing to drive a good distance away people will take off a lot. I got over a grand off mine by just driving 5 hours

i've searched within a 500 mile radius on craigslist and haven't been able to find one.

I'm on the western border of ohio, but would drive to the east coast for the right jeep. I've been using searchtempest.com to search through craigslist every week or so, but I haven't managed to find one that inst beat and on its last leg, or a trail rig that wont work for the daily driving that I'd be using this for ideally

Stay away from '00-'01's They have more emmissions crap to fail, more restrictive exhausts, they also have a casting fault in the heads for those years and are prone to cracking. '98-'99 is what you should be looking for.

thanks for the heads up, I'm new to xj's. had a 98 tj with an 8" long arm lift and all manner of other mods, sold it 2 summers ago and have regretted it since. been driving nothing but auto's for the last 2 years and its getting very boring, which is why I'm looking for a 5 speed.

Yea what the guy up there said ^ I had a very clean 01 classic ment condition looked great ran great it didnt take long for stuff to start acting up. I have a 96 now that's a lot less pretty it's my dd and it does it's good. I much rather the nice stuff out of a 01 but when it comes to geting something that'll last go with a lil older one. With in 2 months of geting my 01 I had the head crack ****y gas mileage cause all the cats were geting clogged up and my cruise control got stuck on. When I'd hit the brake to slow down it slowed down but when I'd take my foot off the brake it would speed up to 65 witch was what it was set to when it got stuck, if I would you I'd but a lil older one something you can just rip the carpets out of throw some bedliner fix up a lil, have a nice dd for a lot cheaper!! Thats what I did and I much rather my new 96 over my parked 01 classic with many problems anyday
