1997+ Cherokee 4x4 around PNW
 

Looking for a 1997+ Cherokee around the pacific northwest area. Preference is to manual transmission but am open to the idea of a snoozemission. I'm in Eugene and would be willing to travel as far south as Medford and North as Seattle. Would prefer mostly stock(of course) but would consider modified examples. Looking to spend between 2-4k. 4k for low mileage better kept conditions, 2k for beater-ish examples.

I see them on CL pretty often... Heck I found a 99 5 speed 4 door the other day...

there is a clean one for 5k on cl now... i bet you could get it for 4k if you showed up with cash

Thanks, I made an offer to see how willing he was to negotiate before making the hike up there. As someone who has never had an automatic, I've read the Cherokee is pretty reliable. Would sacrificing the manual be worth 1000-1500 in price and much more availability?

your not sacrificing... the AW4 is a very strong automatic and can hold a lot of power as well... but like all automatics it needs to be taken care from the beginning... the ax15 is technically stronger but not by a whole lot man... very good tranny...

My aw4 takes a beating and keeps on shifting! Lol

Thanks for the replies guys. I might just try a slushbox, since there seems to be more of the 97+ Cherokees in autotrajic. I will edit my first post to reflect the changes.
