The other morning right after I finish tap and dieing all four seat bolt holes to reinstall a new base, i proceed to pull my jeep out of garage. I turn my 1993 Jeep cherokee I6 4.0 HO off but my key will not go back all the way to remove. My key previously would not turn far enough to get starter going so i hot wired and made it a push button start. I have researched enough to know it is the cable to the passenger side down in the shifter box. i disconnected mine and shoved it all the way back (as if it were in park all the time allowing key to get out) this did not fix my problem. I then track the cable up the steering column and see the gold rod it attahes too. i played with that with my needle nose pliers and i could hear it moving in the column but nothing was changing. Im at a loss . i can still drive to work and turn it off just i have been bringing my dog with me to work as a security so no one can drive off with my XJ!! PLEASE HELP WITH PICTURES IF POSSIBLE!
