Lynne, I just have to caution you about something. You do realize you will have to start driving hummers now....

How'd the visit with the recruiter go? I'm an active duty WO1 in the Army and I love it. I've been in just under 6 yrs and can't imagine doing anything else. Army lifestyle and freedom is ALL ABOUT THE MOS! My last job was a 9-5 off on the weekends and got 3 or 4 day weekends regularly and of course the 30days of leave a year. Let me know what you decide to do and if you want any other points of view on the Army I will be glad to help.

Ok back from the recruter, so scored a 50 on the practice Asvab and the minimum is 30 in order to take the real one, so I am good on that. As soon as I find out what day I am off next week I go for my physical and the Asvab. I also learned I am 5lbs over weight (big woop) I told him, lol I will lose that by the time I take the test. So everything is going smoothly so far.

I wanna be a Tech, (mechanic) not sure on what though, kinda crossing my fingers for black hawks, but kinda leaning towards the regular veichles (because I can use it in real life) I wanna get my degree, so even though I am probably going to sign for 4 years I might end up a lifer, and be a Officer. but I will take this one thing at a time. I would like to know what would be the best mos for what I want and traveling ALOT. I wanna be deployed, I wanna travel, and I dont really wanna stay anywhere for no longer than a year. What do you think?[/quote]
There are Blackhawks everywhere, even places you wouldn't think of. VIP Blackhawk units are everywhere to. Obviously I am bias on the best aircraft. You cannot go wrong with an aviation job. And if you wanna work on multiple acft pick a shops job. Anything ion the 15 series of MOS's.

How high do you have to score? on the asvab? I got a 50 on the practice, the math questions, I knew them, but it has been a while, I almost forgot them.

stay with a aircraft squadron... they travel alot and normaly get taken better care of alittle more then a ground job... its normally 9 to 5 but sometimes if all the aircrafts arnt up and running like need be youll work weekends... well at least in the corp we did... in fact before leaving for iraq i worked many nites from 4pm to 7am when day shift came in... we were suppose to leave around midnight or 1... but then again every so often if we had nothing to do and people were happy we would leave early...

Yeah i worked on Fa-18 fighter jets... same planes as the blue angels... in fact one of my Marines re-enlisted and he requested to work on the blue angles planes and got it... so hes in FL now doing that... i liked my job a whole whole lot... just didnt like people above me... lol... i did have a girl in my shop for the last little over a year... she actually got kicked out eventually for being crazy... she went crazy saying how she hated men and they were all out to get her and make her feel like crap about herself and stuff... but she graduated from HS and cheered all her life... little blond dizzy girl... she never has a chance... lol... she used to get so mad cause she couldnt pick up some of the parts of the aircrafts and carry them out... eventually just couldnt take it anymore i guess and went nuts... lol... or acted like she did anyways... i think she got kicked out and now gets a check every month for the rest of her life... bunch of BS...

If I had it to do over again I would at least joined the reserves even if it was just for the military training.

Go with the UH-60 Blackhawk. It's the best helicopter in the Army. I'm biased because I'm in flight school right now learning how to fly them.
