I use an external speaker in the front that I can switch several different radios into it plus a scanner. Nice to have when your outside you can hear someone calling, in fact it was siren/PA setup that I used in an old patrol car 100 w PA..

Ya know, that's the perfect use for a PA system. I've been working in emergency services since 2004, why the hell didn't I think of that?

They work really well for that and you used to find them cheap on eBay don't know anymore. Best thing is you don't have to mount the speaker like you were using it for a siren so more mounting spots.

Since my jeep has a car amp that has a wire going directly to the battery, could I add a block to that to splice cable to amp and CB? Id hate to wire another wire to the Batt if i have a thick guage wire already coming in.

Yeah, you can do that. I used to have a d-block running into the cab from my battery to cut down on runs through the firewall in one of my previous vehicles. Just make sure you secure it out of the way and isolate all the wires and contacts real good. Also, make sure you check the power rating of the block and the wire that comes with it. Always better to get a little bigger than what you need so you're not popping fuses when you run more than one at a time.

So now that I have been reading more I'm torn, I feel like a 4' antenna on the tail light would be to high once I add an antenna spring and a quick disconnect. If I get a 3' antenna with the spring and disco would I be sacrificing range?

You won't be out of freq, if that's what you're worried about. I used to have a 5' firestick on a heavy spring mount above the taillight. Someone gave me a 4' firestick and I removed the spring. You want your antenna to clear the roofline otherwise, you're going to get reflectivity and/or interference from the body of the Jeep.
