I the mj i bought came with bent up leafs because po didnt realize the perch setup wasnt the same as an xj. But i fixed with a 8.8.

I "just" came home from pulling a rear axle from a '94 Comanche 2wd/auto (local add).
Wanted to get other parts for my 88 since they aren't a common truck here.
Crawled under and !!! Dana44 !!! (3.54/LSD tags still on.. But a funky looking drive shaft..?)

I'll take some measurements tomorrow and hopefully pics. (for some reason Imageshack makes them HUGE)
I have a'97 Cherokee 29 spline 8.25.
A 2wd 8.25 that's in my 96 2wd but it's a 27 spline.
A MJ axle that I looked in the door and it is a '94, with the spring UNDER axle.
Then my '88 comanche which is a Dana 35, spring UNDER axle.

I will measure also the 44 along with the others just to see for myself if there are any differences,
Again, since I've only read of the infamous Comanche Dana44.

Also for reference, I also have my son's '01 Cherokee with 8.25, 3.55's (4wd)

8.8 !!! Weld perches ! Once u get the perfect ride height! 8.25 is a good axle tho! The 29 spline!

when i got my mj the guy had already put a 8.25 under it. i put another 8.25 and i have to cut and reweld the spring tabs ill post pictures when i do.
