Default 90 Eliminator

Well, i have been wanting to get back in to a MJ, and i ran across this. The guy is looking for an XJ, and i have been wanting to do a proper MJ build for a long time. So if all goes well, the trade will happen in a week or so. that front bumper has got to go! It has the bench seat in it, which i was sad about, since the eliminators came with buckets. So it looks like an XJ seat swap is in order. After that, i plan to do a frame off/engine in resto on this thing. And save up for a 4.6 stroker. I have spare set of XJ axles to get built and drop in. He has already done a HPd30 and 29 spline 8.25 swap, though it is still SUA. Eventually i want to find a square body S10 topper for it.

Yes i am aware. Its just easier to find XJ buckets and swap the racks, as opposed to trying to find Eliminator buckets.

Any special reason you want to use an S10 topper that doesn't fit right on an MJ? There are still MJ-specific toppers available here and there.

Because i live in the middle of the rocky mountains, and finding one within a 10 hour drive is pretty much impossible. i have scoured craigslist and ebay

I hear you. I looked for a few years and couldn't find one locally either. I finally got one by purchasing an 88 MJ w. a nice topper on Ebay, then flying up to PA and driving the truck back to Bama. I transferred the topper to my truck, then sold the 88 later for more than I paid for it. Even covered my plane fare and gas money.

I don't want to make to many plans, since there is a chance he may not like my XJ, but i am deffinetally building plans in my head. A "project do it right" if you will. Funds are a bit tighter this go around, so it will take longer, but i think i will finally have a wheeling rig i will Keep. I love the XJ, but ever since i sold my 2wd MJ, i have been kicking myself.

well after driving this thing last night and this morning.....these dumb HID light things have got to go. And the fog light wiring is downright scary....weekend project to get everything wired right. Will be doing a H4 conversion with a putco harness and replacing the headlight switch(reostat is toast) My blinkers flicker like a mad man, so will be spending the evening cleaning grounds and checking bulbs.

I'm eager to see if you do the hidden winch mount bumper...I want one SO bad!
What are your plans for lift and tires?
