Default 89 MJ 2wd 5spd to 98 4wd aw4 - Crossmember question

Picked up a fairly clean MJ that originally had a 4.0/BA10 and was 2wd. I'm going to be swapping in a 98 4.0/aw4 from a donor XJ and should have everything I need for the swap. My only question is in regards to the crossmember, I have the original MJ crossmember but if I'm hearing this right I need to move it back on the uniframe rails to pre-drilled holes that need tapped? Anybody have any insight on this, and maybe some pictures of where it needs to be moved to, I'm seeing all sorts of factory holes under this thing.

it also looks like the MJ has some extra support brackets on the inside of the frame rail where the crossmember originally was, I don't remember those being there on my other XJ.

The holes are holes. They originally had nut-serts in the holes for the bolts to thread in to. You'll see that when you take your old one off.

Isn't there a different set of holes between the 2ed vs 4wd transmission? Thought I had heard that from someone

Not sure on Peugeot gearboxes but most likely it ll be a different crossmember on the aw4. Use the aw4 crossmember. See where it touch up on the frame rail when u have the drivetrain in, and go from there
