Wowwwww. It just astounds me the pure garbage that is allowed to roll off of the assembly lines nowadays. Sorry to hear of your ordeal. Sounds like something that courts could get involved with.

A 2001 XJ Sport 4Dr. 4WD was $21,915 which works out to about $29,500 today.
They are pretty close in price to the KL equivalent with a V6 and ADII (note: the "sport" KL doesn't offer a V6 or ADII so I used a Latitude for comparison to the XJ Sport, Limited was compared to Limited).
However the KL definitely has a lot more expensive options if you decide to "load it up" and the price can get much higher quickly. A V6 "Trail-Hawk" starts at around $32k but can get above $40k with options, not sure how one got to $59K unless the dealer was marking it up or it had a bunch of DIOs (Dealer Installed Options) beyond what you could normally configure from the factory.

I just had a bad experience with a dealership too. Not as terrible as yours metalwonzero. Jeeps are moving to China. It seems we are stuck in the inbetween period of this transition and Chrysler will not stand behind something they are giving up on.

In 2001 an XJ Limited 4Dr. 4WD (top trim) was $25,600 which would work out to about $36,700 today.
A 2001 XJ Sport 4Dr. 4WD was $21,915 which works out to about $29,500 today.

drivers side, in between motor and battery.
most likely we would need a flight recorder hooked up to catch this glitch in real time. kinda like a smart phone glitch.. when it happens it happens.. then it goes back to normal after a reboot.. but when it happens... woa..

i have a pic of the water crossing if i can get it off my phone.. i have both angles.. the glare kinda messes this shot up.. or you could see every stone on the bottom..
i took this pic with the Canon... and several with the phone.. but since my phone got dropped on a rock its not working properly.. or i would upload from it.. im parked in the creek.. i was going the opposite direction when it happend.. the bank is steeper 25-28 degrees at the waters edge..
