oil change
I looked through the owners manual and i dont see anything specific about the first oil change. we have just over 1,500 miles and I am thinking i should change the oil on my 3.2L V6. how did you all go before changing?

If your steering wheel looks like this, you can press the down arrow with your left thumb until it gets to the oil change status screen (appearing on the dashboard, dead center). It shows your KL's estimation of how long you have until your next oil change. Mine's averaging between 7000 to even 10,000 miles (although I usually don't let it go that long).
Press the up arrow with your left thumb to get back to your preferred screen.

I don't think the OP is asking about recommended oil change intervals. I think they are asking when is a good mileage/time for the first oil change to remove the left over casting sand & factory crud from their new engine.
If this a vehicle you plan to keep, I'll say the first new oil and filter at ~ 500 miles. What type of schedule you follow after that is up to you.

One thing that IS in the factory fill in most cars that is good for the engine during these early miles is molybdenum. You can watch your moly numbers drop dramatically from the factory fill to the first fill post-sale. Take that out at 500 miles, and you don't get the benefit of the moly during the break-in period.
Last new car I bought had a normal 7500 mile oil change interval. I drained the factory fill at 4000 miles. The oil report indicated I didn't really need to bother.

I have a 2015 Rubicon hard Rock with the pentastar 3.6 and my wife's 2015 TrailHawk with the 3.2. basically the same engine. I change both at around 7500 miles. the oil is really black at that point. both my owners manuals say not to exceed 10k miles. I use mobile 1 full synthetic they recommend a change every 15k. but I think I will stick to 7500 to be safe as it was really black. I had a tribology report done on my last Rubicon oil change and it came back fine.
