mines identical to yours, if you were to unhook that tube that connects the box to the sporty intake hole. this would solve the problem. im sure this feature would be great on a sports car, but not an offroad vehicle, no other jeep to my knowledge, based on walking around the lot looking at the sport cherokee, to a wrangler and grand,.. its that extra tube, im telling ya.. if ya dip the nose a little on a rough trail with current design.. your ride will take a drink..
aint nothing to stop it or divert it under current design.. not even a splash guard..
so.. be careful.

[QUOTE=Outlaw Star;2856242]Just a thought, why not be the first to mod the part? If successful, share it.[/QUOTE
their is an extra air tube on the trailhawk. i see what happened now. for sure.. none of the other models i have seen have this extra piece of tube that goes into the air scoop.
had i seen this before, i would have disconnected that 1 thing.
but also..
no splash guard of any kind..
only the fascia hole..
I made that FLAW call yesterday i may be the first, but i wont be the last unless they fix it.
im sure busting a water hole or 2 isnt that bad.. but when someone takes one of those mean dips and tilts that nose down.. deep or not..
say good buy to a motor and hello to hydrolock..
trying to save everyone a wtf moment..

I guess you can say im pioneering this. Definate cherry pop for me.
i just cant believe that the standard models are better protected than a Trailhawk.. Go compare em on the lot.. all of them.. Wrangler & Grands.
the Option has been tossed around by my dealer to put me in another ride.
Just be warned.. it wont take much to drown out a Trailhawk. not with the current ram air style intake on the 2.4 and no splash guards.. plenty of skid plates for when your skidding over a steep embankment.. but doomed if the nose dips.. lol slurp no water

Just began thumbing through the sales brochure. About 5th or so page in, I read this:
"WATER FORDING:
Additional electrical and body seals, plus a high air-intake location, let you traverse bodies of water up to 20 inches deep.
TRAILHAWK TRAIL-RATED* CAPABILITY
WATER FORDING DEPTH 20" @ 5 MPH."
