My understanding is that to lift the KL requires modification of the frame. Several companies have already said it just isn't feasible right now.

I've been toying with idea of using a set of camber plates on top of a spacer for the front, not sure how to tackle the rear. It seems that solution will be more involved.

Those companies have approached the Cherokee from the perspective of it being a truck. It is not. It is based on a FWD car platform(Dodge Dart) therefore suspension modification should follow suit.

Wow. Rocky road originally had a lift iirc now they retracted it. Yup, maybe just trimming is the way but curious how the cheap paneling would handle it. Can the new suburu be lifted

along with some high angle CVs and see what happens. This possible solution is for the front only. The rear needs a lift spacer like the second link along with increased length LCA. One other issue I see is the bushings on the front and rear LCAs are very stiff. So stiff that I think they will self destruct rather than loosen up when increased range of motion is introduced. They seem to bind up so spherical bearings may be an option.

If I like the result, I will most likely have some longer custom Bilstiens made in order to simplify things(and greatly increase expense).

^This, while I'm sure it could be done with enough time/money, from what I've read the main issue is the lack of adjustability in the suspension (tolerances at the factory are so tight little to no adjustment is necessary in the factory configuration) and adding adjustability requires replacing the control arms and on the KL changing control arms requires removing the front sub-frame.


It would take many hours and thousands of dollars to gain 1.5-2" of lift (any more than that and you start running into issues with suspension geometry and half-shaft angles making it an even more major project) which is beyond what most people are willing to do (while I'm sure someone will eventually, there simply aren't enough people willing to go through the cost/effort for there to be a market for a company to make a "kit" for it)

I know it took a loooooooong time for me to see a lifted Trailblazer (not the s10 version, the mid-size one) and that suspension isn't nearly as complex as the KL. I do hope to see one though. I think all of us do really.

I have nothing against them, I'm actually glad they came back out with a Cherokee. I just don't care for the pointy headlights. Same with Nissan juke. I just think the front ends are goofy
